1. The value of retail trade in Australia rose just +0.1% m/m in April.
The ABS noted that the early timing of Easter is likely to have contributed to some volatility in retail sales over March and April.
Sales in March and April combined were 0.2% lower than in January/February combined. Excluding food and eating out, the equivalent figure is -0.9%, with nominal sales broadly flat for 2 years!
