Australia’s labour market report for February was mixed/messy, with the unemployment rate rising to 4.3% despite strong employment growth. The unemployment rate remains below the RBA’s NAIRU estimate.
1. Australia’s unemployment rate rose +0.2ppts to 4.3% in February (in unrounded terms it rose from 4.07% to 4.28%).
There has been a cluster of relatively large monthly moved in Australia’s measured unemployment rate in recent months.
