1. Retail sales in Australia rose just +0.2% m/m in nominal terms in May and increased +3.3% over the year.
Excluding food & eating out, sales jumped 0.75% m/m to be back above the sales-induced peak in December last year.
2. Clothing & footwear (+2.9% m/m) and department store (+2.6% m/m) sales rebounded in May after falling sharply in April amid warmer-than-usual weather.
