1. Most of the key indicators in NAB’s survey of Australian businesses were little changed in March. The survey, however, was taken from 23-30 March and before the US tariff announcements.

Forward orders were reported to have improved a little and the trend has been higher over the past year. This has occurred alongside improving - but still soft - growth in GDP and domestic demand.

2. With forward orders remaining below average, firms’ reported capacity utilisation has trended lower but remains above average and actually rose in March (in goods industries).
