1. Australia’s goods trade surplus narrowed a little in May to $5.77b from a downwardly revised $6.0b in April (previously +$6.5b).

Nominal imports rose more quickly than exports in May and have fallen by less than exports in the first 2 months of the quarter. The quarter-to-date declines are likely to at least partly reflect lower prices because the A$ TWI rose nearly 2% in Q2.
